Barış Aygen (1988, Istanbul) is a cinematographer. He graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Film & Television. He participated in Sarajevo Talents (2019). Until now he did 7 feature films as a cinematographer, inc. Eden (2018, Premiered in Warsaw Film Festival) and Belonging (2019, Premiered in Berlinale Forum). He is still working on shorts films, documentaries and commercial works.

A middle-class accountant and family man, Orhan is under heavy debt when his friend for whom he had been a guarantor abandons him. Orhan’s mother has been in a coma for a while. As Orhan tries to get out of this difficult situation, he moves away from his family and loved ones and becomes alienated.

Aidiyet is a contemporary thriller that maps out a criminal case, though it’s the very opposite of a genre film. In a voice-over delivered in the sober tone of a confession, a man reconstructs the murder of his future mother-in-law. Acting on the wishes of her daughter, his lover, he hired a contract killer to murder her because she opposed their relationship.
